Angela Holdsworth, also known by her married name, Angela Neuberger, is an experienced writer, editor and award-winning television
producer. She worked for many years at the BBC before becoming an independent
executive producer and consultant. Her programmes have been praised for being
‘analytical without being didactic, serious-minded but with a sense of humour’ (The
Times).
Known for tackling complex subjects with a popular touch, her portfolio includes the
influential history series, Out of the Doll’s House (BBC2), Sex Bomb (Channel 4) and
the ground-breaking documentary-drama, The People’s Duchess , (Channel 4). She was also editor of Crimewatch UK (BBC1) and Rough Justice (BBC1).
Her book, Out of the Doll’s House , based on the television series, was a Sunday Times
Top Ten Best Seller for six weeks. In recent years she has edited three illustrated histories
and acted as consultant on many programmes for Testimony Films. Her latest project has been executive-producing Bastards, a feature length independent documentary.
When not working on creative projects Angela (under her married name Angela Neuberger) is an active Trustee and non-executive director of Weldmar Hospice and a Governor of the Arts University, Bournemouth.
